2015 brought fun and exciting opportunities to support local and national charities. Below is a summary of some of the friends and causes we were able to contribute to because of our clients partnerships!
Blindfold Challenge 5k to Support the National Braille Press: Every year this event precedes the Boston Marathon. The Energy alone when running and hearing the crowd is electric, but to know you are bringing awareness and supporting a large community makes it that much more full-filling. Special shout out to my husband whom for the past 3 years has been my guide. For more information, or to support NBP and this event CLICK HERE
McCourt Foundation Spring Fling Event: The McCourt Foundation raises funds and awareness around MS and Alzheimer's. My grandmother, Rita Gardenier, passed away from Alzheimer's so this cause is important to me. My dear friend, Melissa Prince, is a current Board member for the foundation and always puts on a great time at this event. It's not only a fabulous girls' night out, but it supports so many entities. My husband loved being the recipient of a great silent auction item. To learn more about McCourt and their work CLICK HERE
PMC: The Pan Mass Challenge is a bike race across MA every August that raises funds for cancer research of all types. I have personally done the race many times as several of my family members have been affected by cancer; but now, take pleasure in supporting my friend Glenn Romero on his quest to raise money for virtual PMC riders. He is a mad man in the best way-and his love of hot dogs allows him to compete in hot-dog eating contests all in the name of charity. His Wiener Warrior video is a must see, including the updated version Swallow and Chew found HERE. We proudly support you, Glenn; and raising funds for cancer research.
Kelly Financial Golf Tournament to Support St. Philomena's in RI: Bill Kelly has been a long time client and friend of mine; each summer his company, Kelly Financial Services, partners with the prestigious Carnegie Abbey Golf Club in RI to put on a tournament to raise funds for the local school St. Philomena's. This year, with the help of my HubSpot friends (Ellen Zehntner, Andrew Tosi, and Robert Lawless) we not only had a great day of golf, but helped fund classroom education. National Braille Press Gala A Million Laughs for Literacy: This event is awesome. It's inspiring, well run, and offers amazing silent and LIVE auction items that are often exclusive to this event. Tom Sullivan, founder of Lumber Liquidators, introduced me to this event 10 years ago, and I haven't missed one since. For more information to support NBP and to attend this annual event CLICK HERE
Lindsay Tia for D.O.V.E: Lindsay Tia is a local Boston designer who partnered with the Boston Winery to help raise money for D.O.V.E in MA. Lindsay is no stranger to cause marketing (Check out her Bravery Bag) she showcased her fall line with proceeds from her bag sales supporting this cause. Not only did we leave with some great bags, but we helped give woman throughout the state a support system they need. To learn more about D.O.V.E CLICK HERE.
These were some of the highlight's of our charitable partnerships this year. It was great to support causes we are passionate about, but also causes that our clients and friend's are passionate about. "Individually we are one drop, but together we are an ocean." I can't wait to see what 2016 brings!
